UniFi PoE Budget Estimate
Estimate switch power headroom with fixed device allowances. For AP counts, coverage and gateway sizing, use UniFi Guide's sizing planner.

Where these numbers come from
- Access points are counted at an assumed 21 W each, and cameras at an assumed 10 W each. These fixed inputs are examples, not maximums for every model.
- Replace these allowances with each model's documented requirement in the PoE planning worksheet before committing a tight budget.
- Switch budgets are the published totals for each model. Per-port capability is a separate limit: a switch can allow 30 W on any one port and still run out of total budget long before every port is loaded.
- Uplink per AP divides the selected uplink speed by the number of access points. It is an arithmetic share, not a throughput prediction or a check that the chosen switch supports that uplink.
